Disney's Beach Club Resort, Waterfront resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Disney's Beach Club Resort is a hotel beside Epcot in Lake Buena Vista, designed with wide timber balconies, turrets, and bay windows that echo North American coastal architecture. The multi-story buildings cluster around lawns and water features, with a central courtyard opening toward the lake.
The complex opened in 1990 as Walt Disney World began to expand lodging options close to the theme parks. It was built alongside a sister property and a shared convention center as part of a broader development around Crescent Lake.
The name recalls seaside retreats along the Atlantic coast during the early 1900s, reflected in clapboard siding, wicker furniture, and soft blues and whites throughout. This design appears most clearly in common areas, where families settle into porch rockers or stroll through hallways overlooking the lake.
The lobby and main areas sit at ground level, making it easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs. Guests arriving early can store luggage and head straight to the parks without waiting for room check-in.
The pool area connects several basins through a shared sandy floor, letting guests move barefoot from one to another. One of the water slides exits into a separate plunge pool enclosed by an artificial shipwreck structure.
