350 Mission Street is a modern skyscraper in San Francisco with 30 floors clad entirely in glass panels that reflect the surrounding sky and cityscape. The building rises as a slender vertical form with extensive window surfaces that create an open and light-filled appearance throughout its interior spaces.
The project was first proposed at 850 ft with 1 million sq ft of offices, then cut to fit a 550 ft limit; even after a 2008 zoning plan allowed 700 ft, the developer settled on 375 ft, calling a taller tower uneconomical on the 19,000 sq ft lot. Kilroy Realty bought the project in October 2012 for US$52 million, Salesforce agreed that December to lease the whole tower, and the Planning Commission approved six added stories on August 15, 2013. Demolition of the former Heald College building began in February 2013, and the 30-story tower was completed in 2015.
The tower is named Salesforce East after Salesforce.com leased the whole building in December 2012, before construction finished. Yelp subleased 53,596 sq ft in 2021 when it gave up its headquarters at 140 New Montgomery Street. Salesforce put its remaining space up for sublease in April 2023.
The tower stands at the northeast corner of Mission and Fremont Streets, a block from Market Street and half a block from the Transbay Transit Center; Salesforce West and Millennium Tower face it across the two streets. The 30 stories were approved on August 15, 2013, and Kilroy completed the project in 2015. A pane of glass fell from the roof level on September 6, 2024, damaging ground-floor windows of Millennium Tower.
Salesforce agreed in December 2012 to lease the entire tower before it was built, prompting Kilroy to add six floors to the planned 24, bringing it to 30 stories and about 420,000 square feet of offices. The building was completed in 2015 and reached LEED Platinum status.
