350 Mission Street

350 Mission Street is a modern skyscraper in San Francisco with 30 floors clad entirely in glass panels that reflect the surrounding sky and cityscape. The building rises as a slender vertical form with extensive window surfaces that create an open and light-filled appearance throughout its interior spaces.

The building was designed by Skidmore Owings Merrill and completed in 2015 after being modified to comply with local height regulations. Its completion marked a turning point in how modern high-rises could be developed in the South of Market neighborhood.

The ground floor serves as an open gathering space where a digital art installation engages passersby and creates a connection between the building and the surrounding neighborhood. Visitors often pause here to watch the animated visuals that bring movement and color to the street.

The building is fully accessible with clear signage for visitors to the public ground floor areas. The best time to visit is late afternoon or evening when the digital art display is most visible and the light highlights the glass panels beautifully.

The building uses exceptionally thin concrete flat slabs that allow for unusually high ceilings, making interior spaces feel more spacious than typical modern office buildings. This construction method also improves natural light penetration deep into the office floors.
