Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects designed this modernist structure between 1959 and 1961, following principles of architect Mies van der Rohe.
The building earned recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010 for its architectural significance in Sacramento's development.
Located at 6201 S Street, the headquarters features adjustable louvers that regulate internal temperature and lighting throughout the building.
Artist Wayne Thiebaud created the Water City mural on the exterior, paying tribute to the Sacramento and American Rivers.
