Oroville Dam, Embankment dam in Butte County, United States.

The Oroville Dam stretches 2,109 meters across the Feather River, functioning as a water storage facility and flood control structure in Northern California.

Construction of the dam began in 1961 and concluded in 1968, marking a substantial advancement in California's water management infrastructure development.

The Edward Hyatt Power Plant at the dam generates 819 megawatts of electricity, contributing to California's energy independence and economic development.

Lake Oroville, formed by the dam, stores 3.5 million acre-feet of water, providing essential resources for agriculture and residential needs throughout California.

In 2017, structural concerns in the spillway led to the evacuation of 188,000 residents, resulting in a complete reconstruction project completed in 2018.

A beautiful place to explore and take your walks and regress. My children loved the experience of walking the dam for the first time.
