The 5 Point Cafe, Historic diner in Belltown, Seattle, US
The 5 Point Cafe is a 24-hour diner in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, serving American comfort food alongside beer and cocktails. The interior is straightforward, with a long counter, bar stools, and a look that sits somewhere between a classic diner and a dive bar.
The building went up in 1929, just before the Great Depression took hold, and was first used as a dairy warehouse. It was later converted into a cafe and has stayed open ever since, making it one of the oldest continually running spots in Belltown.
The cafe has a long-standing reputation as a place where night-shift workers, artists, and late-night regulars all share the same counter. There are no clocks on the walls, which quietly reinforces the idea that time of day does not matter here.
The cafe sits on Tilikum Place, a small square that makes it easy to spot from the street. The bar area has an age restriction after 9 PM, but the dining room remains open to all guests throughout the night.
The men's restroom contains a periscope that frames a view of the Space Needle from below street level. Most visitors only discover it once they are already inside, making it one of the more unexpected moments of the visit.
