Alexander Falls, Cascade waterfall in Callaghan Valley, Canada
Alexander Falls is a cascade waterfall in Callaghan Valley featuring three connected sections plunging through the forested landscape of British Columbia. The water drops approximately 43 meters with each section spanning about 12 meters in width.
The falls were difficult to reach until infrastructure development for the 2010 Winter Olympics improved visitor access to this natural site. These improvements made the area more accessible to travelers and continue to shape the visitor experience today.
The falls sit near Whistler Olympic Park, a site developed for Nordic sports during the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. Today visitors experience how the landscape connects to that sporting heritage.
To reach the falls, follow Callaghan Valley Road from Whistler and view the cascade from a wooden viewing platform. This platform provides a stable vantage point while protecting the surrounding area from foot traffic damage.
Madeley Creek feeds the falls with mountain water, creating different visual experiences between spring floods and winter freezing. In spring the cascade appears at full force, while winter brings a frozen appearance that transforms how the site looks entirely.
