Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom

Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom is a drop tower at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California that features two separate gondolas mounted on an existing coaster structure. Riders ascend slowly before experiencing a rapid free-fall descent that lasts only a few seconds.

This ride opened in 2012 as the world's tallest drop tower at that time. Other parks have since built taller versions, changing the record landscape.

The ride incorporates elements from DC Comics, with the queue area designed as Lexcorp headquarters containing promotional posters and blueprints of weapons.

Riders must meet a height requirement of approximately 4 feet to experience the ride. Visiting early in the day generally means shorter lines and less waiting time.

This ride shares its support structure with an adjacent roller coaster, making it one of the few attractions where two separate rides use the same tower. This clever design allowed the park to add a major thrill without requiring extra space.
