The Shambala Preserve spans across a natural terrain where rescued tigers, lions, leopards, and other large felines find permanent residence and care.
Actress Tippi Hedren founded this sanctuary in 1972, establishing The Roar Foundation in 1983 to support the facility's mission of animal protection.
The Sanskrit-derived name reflects the sanctuary's mission of creating a meeting place where both animals and humans experience peace and harmony.
The sanctuary requires advance reservations for Safari Tours, accepts visitors aged 18 and above, and maintains strict health protocols for guest visits.
The preserve became the permanent home for Michael Jackson's Bengal tigers, Sabu and Thriller, after the closure of his Neverland Ranch facility.
