Caesars Palace Grand Prix, Formula One event in the United States of America
The Caesars Palace Grand Prix was a Formula One race held on city streets surrounding the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas. The track featured tight corners, fast straights, and an urban setting in the middle of downtown.
The race debuted in 1981 and ran intermittently over the following decades as part of the Formula One calendar. It was eventually discontinued and removed from the championship schedule.
The race helped establish Las Vegas as a destination for major international sporting events.
This race is no longer part of the current Formula One calendar and does not take place anymore. Visitors today can only explore the historic route where the track once ran through the city streets.
The race ran on a particularly tight and complex street circuit that wound through downtown Las Vegas. This demanding urban layout made it one of the more difficult tracks for drivers on the Formula One calendar.
