Sam Boyd Stadium is a sports venue in Whitney, Nevada, featuring a horseshoe-shaped single-tier grandstand with an artificial turf playing surface. The facility sits at roughly 1,600 feet (488 meters) above sea level and holds around 36,800 seats.
The facility opened in 1971 under the name Las Vegas Stadium and was renamed Las Vegas Silver Bowl in 1978. It received its current name in 1994.
Rugby fans from around the world came here to experience international tournaments where teams from multiple continents competed. The venue provided space for events that went beyond regular season games.
The venue served as the home field for University of Nevada Las Vegas football until the team relocated to Allegiant Stadium. Visitors will find the grounds southeast of downtown Las Vegas.
