Whitney

Whitney is a census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, situated within the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The community lies near Boulder Highway and functions as a residential area for those who work in the surrounding region.

A rancher named Stowell E. Whitney subdivided his property in the 1930s to accommodate growth in the area. The community's official boundaries were later established by the Clark County Commission.

The Whitney Town Advisory Board organizes community programs and addresses local matters, fostering connections among the diverse population of 49,061 residents.

Whitney temporarily changed its name to East Las Vegas in 1958 following a resident petition but returned to its original name in 1993.
