Snezhanka Peak

Snezhanka Peak is a mountain summit in the Rhodope range that rises to 1926 meters and is topped by a 156-meter television tower. This broadcasting structure dominates the skyline and serves the region's radio and television needs.

The peak has long been part of the ancient Rhodope range and served as a landmark for people living in the surrounding valleys. The television tower was built in the 20th century to improve regional broadcasting and communication capabilities.

The name Snezhanka comes from Bulgarian words meaning Snow White, reflecting the winter conditions that shape life on this peak. The ski resorts and mountain lodges around it show how local communities have made this place central to their winter traditions.

You can reach the observation area at around 2019 meters via marked hiking trails starting from several directions around the peak. The routes vary in difficulty, so it helps to check conditions before heading up.
