Bluewater Lake State Park is a 3,000-acre state park in the Zuni Mountains near Prewitt, New Mexico, about 30 miles west of Grants. It surrounds a 1,200-acre lake at an elevation of 7,400 feet, with the park covering 12 square kilometers.

Bluewater Lake State Park was created in 1937, when the state set aside land around Bluewater Lake in the Zuni Mountains, about 48 km west of Grants. The park now covers roughly 1,200 hectares around a lake of about 4.9 square kilometres, at an elevation of 2,256 metres.

The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, tiger muskie and channel catfish, which draws anglers throughout the year. Birdwatchers also come for the 68 bird species that either live in the park or pass through on migration.

The park provides 149 campsites with varying setups including sites with electrical hookups, beach camping, and boat-in camping for different visitor preferences. The high elevation means cool nights and weather can change quickly, so visitors should pack accordingly for mountain conditions.

At 7,400 feet in the Zuni Mountains, the lake freezes over each winter, and ice fishing takes place on it. The same cold water holds tiger muskie alongside rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and channel catfish. Horseback riding is allowed across the park, but not within 10 feet of the lake.
