Robbers Roost, Canyon system in central Utah, United States

The sandstone canyons of Robbers Roost form an intricate network of deep gorges, narrow passages, and vertical walls across the desert landscape.

During the late 1800s, Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch gang used this remote canyon system as their primary hideout between train and bank robberies.

The canyon preserves traces of outlaw heritage through remaining structures, including the original Wild Bunch corral and supply storage locations.

Visitors need high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles to access the trailheads, as all approaches require extensive travel on unpaved desert roads.

The Bluejohn Canyon section gained recognition after Aaron Ralston survived a boulder incident there, leading to the creation of the film '127 Hours'.
