Colorado Gators Reptile Park, Reptile sanctuary in Mosca, United States.
Colorado Gators Reptile Park is a reptile sanctuary in Mosca that houses numerous alligators, snakes, turtles, and lizards in specialized habitats. The animals are supported by natural geothermal waters on the property.
The facility began in 1977 as a tilapia farm and incorporated alligators in 1987 to manage fish waste before opening to the public in 1990. This gradual transformation from agricultural operation to public attraction shaped its development.
The park hosts Gatorfest each August with roping and barrel racing competitions, marking the world's first alligator rodeo event.
Visitors can participate in supervised alligator handling sessions and educational programs about reptile care during their visit. Guided tours of the facility allow exploration of all habitats and exhibits in an organized way.
The facility serves as the only alligator rescue center in the US, providing rehabilitation for abandoned and illegally trafficked exotic animals. Many of its residents are creatures that would not survive in the wild.
