BOK Center, Sports and entertainment arena in Downtown Tulsa, United States
The BOK Center is a large event hall in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, designed with a circular footprint and an exterior skin of glass. The interior holds more than 19,000 spectators and features multiple levels of seating and lounge areas.
Construction began in 2005 and the opening took place in August 2008 as part of a larger urban development initiative. César Pelli designed the hall, which represented the first major project of this kind in the city and helped revitalize downtown.
Visitors recognize the venue by its distinctive circular form and large glass panels that glow from within at night. Inside the building, performances by international artists take place regularly, from rock bands to comedians, drawing guests from across the region.
All purchases inside the facility are cashless, so visitors should bring a credit or debit card. It is advisable to arrive early, as security checks at the entrance can be time-consuming during major events.
Metallica set a new attendance record for this venue during a performance in 2019. This record shows how well the hall suits even large rock concerts and how many fans it can accommodate at once.
