Donauparkbahn, Narrow gauge railway in Donaupark, Vienna, Austria
The railway system spans 3.4 kilometers through Donaupark with a figure-eight track layout and three designated stations along its route.
The railway began operations in 1964 during the Vienna International Garden Show, transforming a former military shooting range and waste disposal site.
The train carriages feature 1960s design elements with upholstered benches, differing from the 1928 models used by its predecessor, the Liliputbahn.
The complete circuit takes 20 minutes, with trains running every 8 to 12 minutes during peak hours from the Donauturm station to Rosenschau.
Passengers can access remote sections of the park that remain unreachable by foot, offering exclusive views of the cultivated garden landscapes.
