Shabran District

Shabran is an administrative district in northeastern Azerbaijan with varied terrain and natural features. The land transitions from mountains in the south to lowlands toward the Caspian Sea in the north, with rivers cutting through the landscape.

The district was established in 1930 under the name Davachi and went through various boundary changes over the decades. It received its current name, Shabran, in 2010 following administrative reforms in the country.
