Gtichavank, Armenian monastery in Tugh village, Azerbaijan.
The monastery consists of two adjacent churches, constructed from felsite stones, with a cylindrical dome topped by a spire and buttressed walls.
The monastery, originally built in 1241 by bishops Sargis and Vrtanes, functioned as an important religious center with a bishop's seat since the 5th century.
The monastery contained a scriptorium and library where religious manuscripts were created and preserved during the medieval period until the 15th century.
The monastery remains accessible through the Janapar Trail, which received maintenance improvements in 2018 to facilitate visitor navigation through the area.
The main church features twin buttresses supporting a domed hall, with locally quarried yellowish stone distinguishing it from other regional structures.
