Sirajganj District, Administrative district in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh
Sirajganj District covers 2,402 square kilometers of land between the Jamuna, Ichamati, Baral, and Hurasagar rivers in northern Bangladesh.
The district originated from lands owned by Zamindar Siraj Ali Chowdhury, and an earthquake in 1762 changed the Jamuna River flow, creating the Baral River.
The district maintains traditional Bengali entertainment forms, including folk songs like Jari and Sari, along with boat racing and Lathikhela competitions.
The region contains nine administrative subdivisions, with Sirajganj city serving as the district headquarters and main commercial center.
The district operates 33,000 dairy farms and houses an economic zone spanning 1,041 acres, making it a significant agricultural and industrial center.
