Shockwave is a Mondial Top Scan at Canada's Wonderland. Its four parts are the supports that raise the seats clear of the ground, an angled arm holding the rows of seats, counterweights on the arm's opposite end, and the seat rows themselves. The arm swings the seats one way, stops at the halfway point, then spins them the other way.

Shockwave, a Mondial Top Scan, opened at Canada's Wonderland in May 2001 and has operated every season since. In its first year riders nicknamed it "Protein Spill 2001" for the forces it produces.

During its first season in 2001, riders nicknamed Shockwave "Protein Spill 2001" for the intensity of the spinning. The name stuck as a piece of park folklore among visitors who rode it that year.

The ride cycle starts with the seats lifting off the ground, then the arm swings riders in one direction until the halfway point, when it reverses. Riders stay restrained in the seat rows throughout; the seats return to the loading position at the end.
