Yangpu District

Yangpu District stretches along the Huangpu River, connecting modern residential neighborhoods with shopping and office centers, particularly around the Wujiaochang roundabout. Five metro lines run through the area, while bridges and tunnels provide direct passage to Pudong on the opposite bank.

The district developed from the Yangshupu creek area starting in the 1880s and grew into an industrial center with textile factories during the early 1900s. These factories shaped the layout and character of the region for decades.
