Hanjiang District, Yangzhou

Hanjiang is a district situated along the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal in Yangzhou. The area spans multiple neighborhoods and residential zones, forming part of the city's central administrative region.

The district took its current form in 2011 when the neighboring Weiyang District was merged into it. This consolidation created a larger administrative area that reshaped the center of Yangzhou.

The district blends traditional craft traditions with modern commerce throughout its streets. You can see this mix in neighborhoods where old-style shops and workshops sit alongside contemporary shopping areas.

The district is easily accessible via Yangzhou Railway Station, which offers connections to many cities across Jiangsu Province. The area has a functional road network that makes it easy for visitors and residents to move between different neighborhoods.

The district sits at only 9 meters above sea level, placing it in a flat area between two major waterways. This location made it historically important as a trading hub for boats moving between the Yangtze and the canal.
