Yangshao culture, Archaeological culture in China

Yangshao culture was a Neolithic culture that existed extensively along the Yellow River in China.

This culture flourished between 5000 BC and 3000 BC.

The main food of the Yangshao people was millet, with some sites using foxtail millet and others broom-corn millet.

Evidence shows that silk worms were domesticated at the time, and items of silk have been found, paving the way for the prosperous Silk Road.

It is notable for its painted pottery.
