Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge, Railway bridge in Linwei District, China
The Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge is a railway viaduct that spans across the Wei River valley, linking multiple sections of the Xuzhou-Lanzhou High-Speed Railway. The structure crosses the valley with multiple spans and incorporates an elevated railway station within its system.
The project was completed in 2009 and was the world's longest bridge structure at that time. Its construction marked a turning point in China's railway infrastructure and enabled the connection of previously hard-to-reach areas.
The bridge connects regions along the Wei River and enables exchange between eastern and western parts of the province. It shapes the landscape and has fundamentally changed how people move across this region.
Trains cross the bridge at speeds exceeding 300 kilometers per hour, connecting major cities in the region. Visitors can view the route from the train or observe the structure from nearby vantage points in the valley.
The bridge crosses the Wei River valley twice, demonstrating remarkable engineering to handle this complex topography. This double crossing allows continuous rail service without interruptions through difficult terrain.
