Mount Hua, Sacred mountain range in Shaanxi, China

Mount Hua features five distinct peaks, with the South Peak reaching 2,155 meters as the highest point of this granite mountain formation.

The mountain gained prominence during the Tang Dynasty between 618-907 CE when it served as a crucial point between the capital cities Chang'an and Luoyang.

The Shrine of the Western Peak, established at the mountain base during the 2nd century BCE, remains an essential center for Daoist practices and ceremonies.

Visitors can access the peaks through multiple hiking trails or take the cable car system installed in the 1990s to reach higher elevations more efficiently.

The Changkong Plank Trail, constructed 700 years ago, consists of wooden planks attached to the mountain face at extreme heights above the valley floor.
