Taihu Bridge

Taihu Bridge is a road crossing over Lake Tai that connects the Xukou region with Xishan Island through three distinct sections. The structure spans 4,308 meters and serves as a major transportation route across the water.

Construction began in 1992 and the bridge opened the following year after substantial investment was committed to the project. It was built to establish a vital transportation link across the water.

The bridge links the mainland with several destinations that hold local significance and draw visitors interested in temples and historic villages. It passes through a landscape shaped by water and traditional communities.
