Aberdeen Country Park is an urban park on Hong Kong Island covering 423 hectares with rolling hills, secondary forests, and two reservoirs surrounded by dense woodland. The site features hiking trails, fitness stations, a Tai Chi area, barbecue spots, and accessible facilities for visitors with mobility needs.
During Japanese occupation in World War II, extensive forest clearing took place, which later prompted major reforestation efforts. These replanting campaigns shaped the current woodland landscape and demonstrate how the area has recovered over decades.
The tree education center displays information about forest conservation through interactive exhibits and models, showing how vegetation was restored over time. Visitors can see examples of native tree species and understand their importance to the local environment.
