Hong Kong Police Museum, Police museum in Wan Chai District, Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Police Museum is housed in a former police station building and documents the work and history of local law enforcement through multiple display areas. Each section presents weapons, equipment, and personal items used by officers, along with a recreation of an illegal drug production site to illustrate different aspects of crime prevention.
The institution was established in 1964 by a committee dedicated to preserving police records and later relocated to a former station building in 1988. The move to that historic law enforcement site gave it a deeper connection to over a century of local policing operations.
The collection tells the story of how local law enforcement adapted to different challenges across decades and the methods used to maintain order in the community. Visitors discover personal items and uniforms that reflect how officers worked and the risks they faced over time.
The museum is open throughout the week and admits all visitors at no charge. The building is located in an accessible neighborhood, making it easy to reach by public transport or on foot.
At the entrance stands one of only two surviving field guns that once protected a historic police station for many decades. The cannon is a rare artifact from an earlier era of local security and defense.
