Guanzhong Folk Art Museum

Guanzhong Folk Art Museum is a large cultural center with thousands of objects displayed across a sprawling grounds at the base of South Wutai Mountain. The site features historical houses from earlier centuries that have been reassembled to show how people actually lived in authentic rooms and courtyards.

The museum was established to preserve and display the crafts and ways of life from the historical Guanzhong region. Many of the houses come from two early dynasty periods and show how people in those times built and arranged their homes.

The museum displays traditional handicrafts including pottery, embroidery, and paper cutting that visitors can see displayed in authentic period rooms. These crafts show how local artistic skills shaped everyday objects and decoration in the region.

You can reach the museum by subway or bus to the grounds at the mountain base. Daytime visits are better for viewing the details of the collection and the architecture clearly.

The grounds contain a rare collection of carved stones with patterns and designs from several centuries. These stones show the region's long craft tradition and how artistic skill was expressed in practical objects used daily.
