Jubilee Battery, Artillery battery in Central and Western District, Hong Kong.
Jubilee Battery is a fortified position at the foot of Mount Davis with gun emplacements and tunnel systems. The site offers views toward Lamma Island and the surrounding waters.
The installation was built as a defensive position during the colonial period and played a strategic role during World War II. In December 1941 it was used against enemy landing attempts on nearby islands.
The site displays military structures from the colonial period and World War II that show how Hong Kong was once defended. Visitors can see the different rooms and passages that were built to support defensive operations.
Visiting requires navigating through Victoria Road, where you can enter through an open gate. Bring a light source to safely explore the tunnels.
The underground rooms form a branching tunnel system extending from the main passage, revealing how intricately the complex was designed. This spatial arrangement allowed different functions to be separated into distinct areas.
