Ming Tak Estate, Public housing estate in Hang Hau, Hong Kong.
Ming Tak Estate is a housing development in Hang Hau with six residential towers designed in the Harmony I architectural style. The buildings accommodate several thousand families and sit near a major shopping district that serves the surrounding area.
The estate was completed in 1994 and formed part of the major urban expansion of Tseung Kwan O, created through land reclamation work in the 1980s. This project showed how Hong Kong extended its urban boundaries to provide more housing for residents.
The estate spans two local constituencies, Fu Nam and Hau Tak, reflecting the complex political organization of Hong Kong's public housing administration system.
The site provides direct access to bus routes, the MTR subway network, and a nearby shopping center for supplies and travel. Visitors can navigate easily since the buildings are clearly arranged and transport connections are well marked.
The neighborhood surrounding the estate was mostly built on artificially reclaimed land, representing a remarkable urban planning achievement of the 1980s and 1990s. This transformation of sea areas into residential neighborhoods left a lasting mark on the region's modern development.
