Cross Bay Link, Bridge in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong
Cross Bay Link is a bridge in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung District, Hong Kong. It crosses Junk Bay and joins the industrial estate with LOHAS Park, using steel arches to support a dual carriageway running above the water.
Construction started in 2018 under China Road and Bridge Corporation. The bridge opened to improve connections between eastern Tseung Kwan O and central Kowloon.
The main bridge section features double arches that form an infinity symbol, representing the forward momentum of the Tseung Kwan O district and its 400,000 residents.
The bridge carries car lanes, cycle paths and pedestrian walkways side by side, so you can cross the bay on foot or by bike. Using it shortens the journey between LOHAS Park and Kwun Tong considerably, especially during rush hours.
The main span uses steel arches that together look like an infinity symbol when seen from the side. Assembly of the arches was prepared on floating platforms and then lifted into place using floating cranes.
