Mount Laojun

Mount Laojun rises to 2,184 meters in the Qinling Mountain Range, featuring diverse landscapes with limestone formations and old-growth forests across 26.7 square kilometers.

The mountain gained its name from Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism, who selected this location as his residence for philosophical contemplation during ancient times.

A 38-meter bronze statue of Lao Tzu stands on the mountain, while a golden-roofed pavilion marks the summit as a center for Taoist practices.

Visitors can access Mount Laojun by taking a bus or driving from Luoyang to Luanchuan, with entrance fees of 90 yuan including access to main attractions.

The mountain contains the Jiguan limestone caves system, extending over 5,600 meters in depth with passages reaching heights of 138 meters.
