Yanyiwei

The four-story fortress of Yanyiwei rises distinctly above other buildings in Yancun village, featuring traditional Chinese defensive architecture and residential spaces.

Built over 350 years ago during the Qing Dynasty, Yanyiwei exemplifies the Jiajing architectural style while maintaining its original structural integrity through generations.

Current inhabitants of Yanyiwei maintain daily life within the fortress walls, preserving local traditions and offering an authentic view of residential heritage in Jiangxi.

Visitors can reach Yanyiwei by taking an 80-minute bus ride from Longnan bus station to Yangcun village, followed by a 200-meter walk past the river.

The fortress remains open across all four levels for exploration, with no enforced entrance fee, allowing unrestricted access to its historical architecture.
