Shixia Site, Archaeological site in Qujiang District, China.

The Shixia Site spans across 30,000 square meters, containing ancient house foundations, storage pits, pottery kilns, and multiple burial grounds.

Excavated in 1973, the site reveals three distinct layers corresponding to the Western Zhou, Shang dynasties, and late Neolithic periods from 2900 to 2700 BC.

The excavation yielded 3,000 artifacts including stone tools, pottery vessels, bone implements, and jade objects that demonstrate advanced crafting techniques.

The site maintains educational exhibits explaining the archaeological discoveries and ongoing research projects for visitors interested in prehistoric Chinese societies.

Archaeological findings at Shixia show connections between late Neolithic cultures of the middle Yangtze region and the local communities of northern Guangdong.
