New Town Central Park, Urban park in Hongqiao Economic Development Zone, Shanghai, China
The park features eastern and western lawns spanning 130,000 square meters, with a central artificial lake covering 10,000 square meters of water surface.
Established in September 2000, this park represents a collaborative design effort between Canadian and Shanghai landscape architecture institutes in the Changning district.
The park incorporates traditional Chinese garden elements through winding paths, connecting slopes, streams, and lakes in a style similar to Chinese landscape paintings.
The facility provides multiple sports venues, including five-a-side football fields, basketball courts, and badminton courts, accessible through metro line 10 at Yili Road station.
The park maintains operation 24 hours daily since July 2018, with enhanced security monitoring and night lighting systems for evening visitors.
