C. Y. Tung Maritime Museum

The C.Y. Tung Maritime Museum is located on the campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and occupies two floors of a western-style building with exhibits focused on China's seafaring past. The displays include ship models, navigation equipment, trade goods, and personal collections spanning from ancient times through the modern era.

The building was constructed in 1910 as a student dormitory before being converted into a museum that opened to the public in 2003 through partnership with The Tung Foundation. The collection traces China's relationship with maritime trade and seafaring across many centuries.

The name honors C.Y. Tung, a shipping magnate whose family supported the collection. Visitors can trace how his personal story connects with China's maritime trade and seafaring traditions.
