Shanghai Indoor Stadium, Indoor stadium in Xuhui District, Shanghai, China

The Shanghai Indoor Stadium, known in Chinese as Shanghai Tiyuguan and nicknamed Wantiguan, is a covered multi-purpose hall in Xuhui District. It was completed in 1975 and entered use in 1976, and was converted into a cultural and sports venue in 1999. It stands beside the Shanghai Swimming Pool and Shanghai Stadium, near the junction of the Inner Ring and Humin elevated roads.

The hall was built in the 1970s and opened in 1976, during a period when Shanghai was investing in large public facilities. It stands as one of the older surviving large event venues still in active use in the city.

The venue is nicknamed Wantiguan ("ten-thousand-people hall") and, when used for concerts, is billed as Shanghai Grand Stage. Since 2023 it has been the home arena of the Shanghai Sharks basketball team. It also hosts the annual Shanghai Masters snooker championship.

The hall is located on Caoxi Road North and is served by several metro lines with a stop right at the venue. It is worth checking the event schedule in advance, as the layout and access points can change depending on what is on.

The hall's Chinese name, 体育馆 (tiyuguan, "sports arena"), differs from that of the neighbouring Shanghai Stadium, 体育场 (tiyuchang, "sports field"), by one character. The English names differ only by "Indoor", a translation quirk that confuses visitors, especially since Metro Line 4 has adjacent stations named after each venue.
