Guangqi Park, Public park in Xuhui District, China

Guangqi Park occupies a site in Xujiahui centred on the tomb of Xu Guangqi, a 300-square-metre oval mound 2.2 metres high holding ten graves, those of Xu, his wife Wu and four grandchildren with their spouses. In front stand a stele inscribed "明徐光启之墓" in the hand of mathematician Su Buqing, a cross, stone figures, stone horses, a huabiao column and a stone paifang carved with a couplet. East of the tomb a stele corridor displays Xu's handwriting, Zha Jizuo's biography of him and a portrait copied by Cheng Shifa.

Xu Guangqi's family cemetery lay at the confluence of the Zhaojia and Fahua rivers, where the village of Xujiahui later grew. In 1641 his remains were buried here in ten graves, with his wife Wu and four grandchildren's couples. The cemetery was restored in 1903 and 1933, damaged during the Cultural Revolution, and in 1978 reopened as Nandan Park; in 1983, the 350th anniversary of his death, it was renamed Guangqi Park. The tomb was restored to its 1903 form in 2003.

The name Xujiahui comes from Xu Guangqi's family cemetery, which stood at the meeting of the Zhaojia and Fahua rivers; a village grew there and took his name. The tombstone inscription "Tomb of Xu Guangqi of the Ming" was written by the mathematician Su Buqing, and the stone archway carries a couplet praising his work in calendar reform and agriculture and his service as both general and minister.

Guangqi Park lies on Nandan Road in Xuhui District, beside the Xujiahui commercial area; the Xujiahui metro station is a short walk away. The tomb and stele corridor stand in the park's centre, with the relocated Nan Chunhua Tang hall, now the Xu Guangqi memorial museum, on the grounds. The tomb was restored in 2003 to its 1903 layout.

The tomb's stone archway carries a couplet praising Xu Guangqi as a teacher of calendrical reform and agriculture and as a minister who served both civil and military roles. The tombstone inscription "明徐光启之墓" was written by the mathematician Su Buqing.
