Guangqi Park, Public park in Xuhui District, China
The park contains artificial lakes, stone bridges, tall bamboo groves, and diverse tree species spread across landscaped grounds near central Shanghai.
The park changed its name from Nandan Park to Guangqi Park in 1983 to honor Xu Guangqi, a Ming Dynasty scholar buried within its grounds.
The memorial compound includes a bust of Xu Guangqi and educational displays about his contributions to astronomy, mathematics, and Chinese governance.
Located at the intersection of Nandan and Wending Road, the park offers free entry and connects to Xujiahui station through metro lines 1, 9, and 11.
The park features statues depicting Xu Guangqi engaged in scholarly activities, while a cross stands to represent his role in Chinese-Western cultural exchange.
