Ürümqi Shaanxi Mosque

Ürümqi Shaanxi Mosque is a prayer facility with a main hall reaching about 10 meters high and wooden flooring designed for worshippers. Several functional buildings surround the central courtyard, including teaching spaces, washing areas, and administrative offices.

The mosque was built during the Qianlong period between 1736 and 1795 as a prayer space for the local community. Major renovations and expansions took place between 1875 and 1908 to serve the growing number of worshippers.

The building displays a blend of Islamic and Chinese design elements through its decorative tiles and carved wooden details. Visitors can see how these two traditions come together in the ornamentation throughout the interior.
