Pillbox of No. 7 Bridge, Caobao Road

The pillbox at Caobao Road is a concrete defensive structure from the early 20th century with observation slots and tactical positions. The building was designed to monitor the surrounding area and control the transportation routes in this part of Shanghai.

The structure has preserved its original concrete walls and still displays the observation openings once used for monitoring. Among the few surviving military installations in central Shanghai, this makes it a testament to the construction craftsmanship of that era.
