Pak Kok Pier on Lamma Island, public pier in Hong Kong
Pak Kok Pier is a small jetty on the northern coast of Lamma Island in Hong Kong, used mainly by ferries and local boats. The facility reopened in 2022 with modern amenities including water fountains, free Wi-Fi, charging points, wheelchair ramps, and information panels.
The pier was renovated and reopened in November 2022 as newer infrastructure to support the growing needs of the local community and visitors. It continues to serve as an important transport hub for ferry routes between Aberdeen and Yung Shue Wan.
The name Pak Kok refers to the bay in the northern part of the island. Visitors notice traditional Chinese architecture with tiled roofs and the slow pace of daily life, where fishing and small-scale farming remain part of the community.
The pier is most easily reached by ferry from Aberdeen or Yung Shue Wan, which runs regularly throughout the day. From here, visitors can easily access nearby walking trails, the Sam Shan Kwok Wong Temple, and the coastal path that leads to Pak Kok Tsui.
A lesser-known detail is Lighthouse No. 132 at the end of the coastal path from Pak Kok Tsui, visited by only a few hikers. This quiet landmark at the headland offers a tranquil spot for visitors exploring the area.
