Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library stands on Xingzhong Road in Dongqu, Zhongshan, west of the municipal government building. The 2019 building is 41.2 m tall with two underground and seven above-ground floors, covering 57,660 m², designed by Nihon Sekkei with East China Architectural Design & Research Institute. Its reading areas hold 2,000 seats, and the atrium carries the 187 m² mosaic mural "Xiangshan Constellation" showing 26 Zhongshan notables.

The library traces its origins to 1888, when the Shouxianglou reading room opened in Fengshan Academy for scholars. In 1919 a county popular library was set up in the Guandi Temple of Tiecheng but moved repeatedly, losing books. After Sun Yat-sen's death in 1925, Xiangshan County was renamed Zhongshan and funds were raised for a memorial library; the first two floors opened on Xishan in 1936, and the third floor was completed in 1947.

The library bears the name of the revolutionary leader and displays how this political figure shaped modern Chinese society through exhibitions. Visitors can see historical objects that document his role in China's transformation.

The library stands on Xingzhong Road in Dongqu, west of the Zhongshan municipal government building. The 2019 building has two underground and seven above-ground floors, with 2,000 reading seats and open areas with floor-to-ceiling glass. Self-service card machines and check-out machines with facial recognition are in the ground-floor hall; the automated book sorting system is on the basement level.

The atrium holds Xiangshan Xingzuo, a mosaic mural of 26 notable figures from Zhongshan covering 187 square metres, described as the largest indoor mosaic mural in China. On the fourth floor stands a bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen cast by the French Susse foundry, based on the marble seated figure by Paul Landowski at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.
