TaunusTurm, Office skyscraper in Financial District, Frankfurt, Germany
TaunusTurm is an office skyscraper in Frankfurt's financial district that rises 170 meters with 40 stories. The facade is composed of bright natural stone arranged in two-story sections with large windows that bring daylight into the workspaces.
The building project started in April 2011 under the initial name Kaiserkarree, after being delayed by shifts in the economy. It opened in February 2014 after completion of the construction phase.
The tower's name references the Taunus mountains that rise north of Frankfurt, linking local geography to modern urban life in the city. This naming choice shows how the place connects to the natural surroundings beyond the financial center.
The tower houses major companies including J.P. Morgan, McKinsey & Company, and Mizuho Bank across its office spaces. As a private business building, access may be limited to those with business in the offices.
The building operates with innovative heating and cooling systems that lower energy use by roughly 30 percent. These technical solutions make it stand out as an example of sustainable design in the financial district.
