Agios Vasileios, Laconia, Mycenaean palace archaeological complex in Xerokambi, Greece
The archaeological site contains palace ruins with a central courtyard, colonnaded porticos, and administrative buildings spread across multiple terraces on a hillside.
The palace flourished between the 17th and 16th centuries BCE, experiencing two major destruction phases before its final abandonment in the 13th century BCE.
The Linear B tablets discovered at the site document administrative records and economic transactions of the Mycenaean society that inhabited the palace.
Visitors can reach the archaeological site by following the signs from the village of Xerokambi, with guided tours available during excavation seasons.
The excavation has revealed an archive of bronze swords, clay figurines, and wall frescoes that demonstrate advanced metallurgy and artistic techniques.
