Lotissement de Super-Cannes

The Lotissement de Super-Cannes is a residential development set on elevated terrain in Cannes at about 270 meters elevation, offering views over the bay of Cannes and Juan-les-Pins. The original infrastructure included a funicular railway and a four-kilometer boulevard, parts of which remain accessible through existing roads today.

The development was founded in 1924 by the Paris and Coastal Real Estate Company as an ambitious residential project for the Riviera. The project was interrupted and many structures have remained abandoned since.

The development features architectural styles from the 1920s, including a wooden observatory tower and the Villa Bagatelle residence. These buildings show how the wealthy of that era envisioned living on the French Riviera.

Access is available through existing roads that still provide entry to parts of the original infrastructure. Visitors should expect that many buildings and areas are abandoned or have limited access.

A water tower was built to serve as a belvedere and combines utility with architectural design. This structure embodies the ambitious visions of early 20th-century French coastal development.
