Jardin de sculptures de la Dhuys, Sculpture garden in Chessy, France.
The Dhuys sculpture garden is an outdoor art space in Chessy featuring roughly forty limestone sculptures distributed across open lawn and along a walking path. The statues line the route near the Marne river, creating a singular landscape composition.
Jacques Servières created this garden in 1987 using limestone blocks from the Dhuys aqueduct. The aqueduct had supplied water to Paris until its destruction during World War II.
The sculptures display influences from Indian, Cambodian, and South American mythologies through the artist's personal interpretation. Visitors encounter these different cultural traditions carved in stone as they walk through the grounds.
The garden sits roughly 40 kilometers from Paris and offers free access to all areas. Visitors can reach it by train and bus, then explore the paths at their own pace depending on weather and personal preference.
Each white limestone sculpture bears the artist's initials and creation date carved into the stone. The works depict human figures alongside real or mythical animals, marking the periods of Servières' creative activity.
