Tbilisi Sioni Cathedral, Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Old Tbilisi, Georgia

The Sioni Cathedral stands on the right bank of Mtkvari River, constructed from tuff stone with two bell towers and a central dome.

The initial construction of the cathedral began in the 6th century under Guaram Kurapalat and finished in the 620s during Adarnase's reign.

The cathedral houses several important religious artifacts, including Saint Nino's cross and a stone from Jerusalem brought by Saint David of Gareja.

Located at 4 Sioni Street, the cathedral maintains regular operating hours from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM for visitors and worshippers.

The cathedral contains the tomb of multiple Georgian Catholicos-Patriarchs and preserves a copy of the Mother of God icon made in Moscow in 1764.
