Cave of Bethlehem, Ancient Christian cave temple at Mount Kazbek, Georgia.

The Cave of Bethlehem features a dome-shaped vault, rounded walls, and floor made of square tiles at an elevation of 4100 meters above sea level.

Archaeological discoveries near the cave include monks' cells, a tombstone, carved stone cross, and a pillar, dating the site to the 6th century.

The Georgian Orthodox Church maintains this sacred cave hermitage, which according to tradition stored the tent of Patriarch Abraham and Christ's manger.

The cave entrance requires climbing chains for access, positioned 300 to 400 meters above the base of a reddish andesite cliff face.

A 1948 expedition led by Alexandra Dzhaparidze discovered a 5.5-meter-long metal chain at the entrance, confirming earlier mountaineer accounts.
